Application And Differences Of Controllers In Commercial Refrigeration Products

We know controllers are very important in electric appliances to adjust the functions, so are they in our commercial refrigeration appliances. There are normally 2 kinds of controllers: mechanical controller and digital controller. So is digital controller better than mechanical one? Let’s see the differences between them.

 

1. The difference in appearance

From the appearance, we can see clearly that digital controller is more fashionable and exquisite than mechanical controller: normally there’s no display screen in mechanical one to show the temperature, and we only use button to adjust the temperature. While in digital controller, there’s digital display screen and we adjust the function by touching the screen, which is very convenient.

 

2. The difference in operation

Mechanical controller has only simple functions: adjust the temperature and led light(if there is), and nothing more. We only need to adjust the button. For digital controller, many functions are united in the digital screen, and the operation is also very simple. And digital controllers can adjust more precise temperature.

 

3. The difference in repair and cost

If the controller is broken, it’s easy to repair the mechanical one since the inside composition is very simple. While if the digital controller is broken, as the inside procedures are more complicated, it becomes difficult for its repair and more expensive of course.

 

So what’s the application of such controllers in our commercial refrigeration products? As we have different series of commercial freezers/chillers, we use different controllers in them.

 

1. For chest freezers and island freezers

For chest freezers and supermarket island freezers, we normally use mechanical controllers as simple function is enough for them. The only function is for temperature adjustment, and no need to increase cost in controllers as it’s not practical.

 

2. For cake showcase and display chillers

Normally for cake showcase, we use digital controllers as cake showcase is for high-end market, digital controller will make it more advanced. It also has heating function to demist in cake showcase. For fan cooling display chillers, we also use digital controllers to equip.

 

3. For medicine coolers

For medicine coolers, we have higher demand for controllers. There’s USB interface in the controller to put memory card for info record. Also it’s more precise to adjust the temperature.

 

We should consider the functions and actual application of commercial freezers/chillers first before choosing the controller. Expensive one is not necessarily the right one in application.
